Rural Agree: A European initiative promoting agricultural sector entrepreneurship in rural areas through digital training.

The Third Transnational Meeting for the European project “Rural Agree: “Digital Training for Agricultural Sector Entrepreneurship in Rural Areas” was successfully held in Brussels on the 10th of October 2017.

The project aims at promoting participation, entrepreneurship and self-employment of the youth from rural areas in the agri-food sector through digital learning tools. The long-term goals of this initiative include the sustainable development of rural areas while mitigating their gender and socio-economic imbalances compared to urban areas through a higher level of employability and economic diversification.

The participation of the meeting comprised representatives from the partner organizations: SARGA (Spain), CREATOR (Romania), European Institute for Local Development (Greece), University of Debrecen (Hungary), ΚΑΜΚ (Finland) and SYNTRA (Belgium).

The representatives of the project coordinator SARGA presented the actions already developed, the work in progress and the pending tasks to be followed within the next months. A presentation of the Good Practice Analysis and Guidelines followed composed by the partner organization LAMORO, although unfortunately the organization’s representatives did not manage to participate in the meeting.

In addition, the representatives of SYNTRA presented the areas and competences selected among all the partners for the formative units while the representatives of the University of Debrecen presented the study cases already developed.

Finally, the representatives of KAMK and CREATOR presented the first 2 demos of the digital learning games while the representative of the European Institute for Local Development presented the content of the collaborative platform which aims at the training of stakeholders along with the most efficient dissemination and utilization of the project’s results.
